Revel in the discipline of routine. To be better with a routine and still highly functional if one goes astray from it. Less so to build a routine like a prison, and more so as a bonus set of actions one may do to further progress their states of being.

How to start? Habit stack. Exercise and build a training regime first, then add the practice of meditation as a wind down, or warm up. The first thing you do will most often be met with the most focus and energy. Use this simply to put what is important first in the line of actions.

Begin to incorporate mindfulness, journaling and contemplation. It is to face your thoughts, your sub-conscious, unconscious and conscious. It is your duty to these their homage and to scrutinize them well.
