It is within our responsibility to ensure the completion of the stress response cycle. To the end as to heal and recuperate. This can be done through the solution and removal of the arising trigger at hand. In the ancestral context: killing or escaping the lion. Or, due to the objective context of freeze or failure in this modern example ending in the persistent life (as opposed to the death that would follow in the ancestral) … One gets the opportunity to wind down the stress response even if the problem still prevails. This is done in meditation, and in the meditative actions found in exercise, art, and any other hobby. To complete the cycle is to allow for the tail to be expressed: after a fight full of adrenaline, the victor would find safety, and rest. So to complete the cycle, one must find safety within their home, their mind, and spirit, and rest. Safety can be found through introspection on the confrontation or issue that allowed for this trigger to surface, and in so doing recognising the triviality of it all, and/or discerning an alternate perception on the events. Otherwise, to radically accept it and all attached notions and feelings, and to then find rest in a safe space.

Find that safe space, and rest. Those that continue the half-cycle of their stress response are given the exact objective outcome to the prolonged chemical imbalances that ensue: an imbalance of the vessel.

Meditate.
