In all relationships ensure the ability to set boundaries and have them respected. A relationship to which either side regards the boundaries of the other, is fatally flawed and must be relinquished for the service of both parties. One must strive to construct relationships to which the egoic personas are equal and even, or better known to be ‘horizontal’ relationships. Within these, both parties strive to solve their own problems and have support from the other, such that either is actively staying within their locus of control and the separation of tasks set to ensure that each has the opportunity to find those solutions. To allow growth, one must solve their own problems, and it has been found many times over, that solving one’s problems for them, leads only to the destruction of the relationship and the consequential downturn of that persona’s wellbeing. Simply put: people want and need to solve their specific problems. Only can we aide if we are asked specifically for help, otherwise it is to sit and support them as they are.
