When we look at the effects of several psychedelics, we can see that instead of merely adding neuro chemicals for happiness, they also block certain regions of the brain, limiting the consciousness in its play of the egoic persona. This tells us that the shift to these states of elation involve the loosening of the ego, and this identity that each person constructs to play their part in the theatre of life. The persona contains the justifications for trauma and a severely destructive rooting in the past, the matter cuts simply, that each day you awake, you pick that persona right back up and go about your day. In that split second before the waking decision to reinstate persona, one can make changes to it, you can always act differently, and as that happens consistently… a habit is the construction of a track record for your action, hence justifying it for all future endeavours, and nothing more. You can construct these instantly, so long as you move the intention of your actions toward conscious choice rather than the past rooting of such actions.
