Guilt serves only to teach a lesson. Holding onto guilt past that threshold is only damaging, and as such it is more ideal to allow the guilt to pass and the lesson to stay. For what is one reminding themselves of with guilt, if only to ensure they learn from whatever happened for it to be decided upon in the first place? Lesson stays, guilt goes. Once learned, it has done its part and the task now falls upon the conscious to continue with that lesson or to get the opportunity to learn it again. How one decides to feel can be indicative of their lower consciousnesses, and such that one’s morality can derive how they respond to contexts that hold less than ideal actions toward one’s vision. It is in these moments that a reminder of self-esteem and preservation is to be made, that pouring flack upon themselves first and foremost before anyone else has the chance, is a sure way to become one’s own worst enemy. There are plenty of likely adversaries ready to project their suppression at the innocent, so there is little need for it to be done by oneself to themselves.
