Change ensues under two conditions: voluntarily and intentionally, or via necessity. Those that progress faster than the rest choose the former as their iron. Given the latter, one awaits and/or builds circumstances to which they fulfill the necessary suffering required to change. In this self-fulfilling prophecy one can find that the ‘world is out to get them’ in so far as they, like all things, look for change, and as such go about getting it through constructing this suffering. The former bodes to pre-empt the process of change. It is where one sees the discipline and strength of another in that they dive into change working in that process for zero reason other than that it is their prerogative. Choose the former.

Meditate.
