Anxiety runs rampant. In the face of perceived future danger, we concoct the contextual circumstances requisite to trigger fight or flight or freeze. Deadening the very systems required to ensure a different outcome from that which we have predicted in the first place.

Simple solution? Sleep.

Pharmaceuticals are less of an option and more of a hindrance. Learn to sleep regardless of how you feel. If necessary, exercise to the point at which you will sleep. Continue to sleep until you feel even the slightest bit better. This applies to a point, if such anxiety bodes to an action, you fear taking, take that action instead. If zero can be done for whatever it is right here and right now, then elect sleep. If something can be done for it, then do that thing. This is to rejuvenate and recover and then to act. There is zero place for escapism.

Next simple solution? (That couples with the first) Exercise.

Endorphins, hormones, and the general feeling of achievement and relaxation all contribute to a larger probability for contentment with your reality. Exercise, and mean it.

Next simple solution? Meditate.

Sit still, breathe, and entertain the possibilities. Do so only if you can detach from the outcomes. Run them through and run the logistics, what would you do in that situation, in the most literal sense, what would you do if that happened. Make those mini plan Bs for each outcome and sit secure in your ability to overcome it all. For if you fail in overcoming it, then it’ll be the least of your worries.
